Each week we have a member of the team introduce themselves so you can get to know us. We'd love to connect! We kick the series off with Liz Kraushar, our JWiT Co-Chair.
I joined JWiT because…
I want to see more women leaders and entrepreneurs in the tech industry. I’m inspired by leaders such as Meg Whitman, Gwynne Shotwell, Ursula Burns, Megan Smith, Sheryl Sandberg, Mary Meeker and Susan Wojcicki, to name a few, but I want to see my peers rise to the same level so that it’s no longer surprising when a woman becomes a senior executive at or founder of a tech company.
JWiT not only builds a supportive community for women in tech, but creates a fun and informal environment for learning about the many roles that MBAs and women with other skills can explore for their careers.
Looking forward to the rich conversations and relationships that will come out of this year’s conference!
I #DaretoTech by…
Transitioning my career from brand marketing at an agency to product management at a major consumer electronics company. From a young age, I’ve always loved to challenge myself with new adventures: rock climbing in the outdoors, conducting my own research project in rural Mexico and now learning to code without a computer science degree.
Before starting my MBA at Johnson, I left my job in DC to intern at a startup in Mexico City and attempted to start my own business (a great learning experience, but it failed fast).
I can’t wait to see how the tech industry will evolve in the next few years. Considering that women influence up to 85 percent of purchasing decisions and make up half of the world’s tech users, the industry will continue to benefit from women’s leadership. I hope you’ll join me in shaping the field in some way so that women everywhere have the opportunity to share their unique perspectives and transformative technology solutions.
